Connect FedEx Freight accounts to ShipperHQ for live LTL shipping rates setup

Overview

This document will guide you on how to obtain your FedEx Freight® credentials, which are required for ShipperHQ to pull live rates associated with your FedEx Freight account.

Requirements

These are the credentials necessary to validate your account with ShipperHQ for real-time rating:

  • A registered account with FedEx Freight
  • Your FedEx Account Number
  • Your Freight Account Number
  • Your Meter Number
  • FedEx Web Services Key
  • FedEx Web Services Password

Register for FedEx Freight Credentials

You can obtain the required Web Services Key, Web Services Password, and Meter Number from FedEx by contacting the FedEx Web Services team. This process should only take a few minutes, but before contacting them, you'll want to have the following information available:

  • Your FedEx Account Number (and FedEx Freight Account Number if different)
  • The Company Name on file with FedEx for your account
  • The Address on file with FedEx for your account

Once you have that information ready:

  1. Call the FedEx Web Services team at 1 (877) 339-2774 (available Mon - Fri 7 AM - 9 PM and Saturday 7 AM - 3 PM US Central time) and choose "Web Services" from the menu.
  2. Tell the Web Services team that you need a meter number and web services credentials to connect your FedEx Freight account to ShipperHQ.
  3. The Web Services team will verify your information and provide you with:
    • A link which will give you your Web Services Key and Meter Number
    • An email with your Web Services Password

After you receive that information, you're ready to connect your ShipperHQ account to your FedEx Freight account!

Adding FedEx Freight

Now that you have your credentials ready, use the steps below to set up FedEx Freight in ShipperHQ.

  1. Log into your ShipperHQ account and navigate to the Advanced Features link on the left navigation menu.

  2. Click to enable the LTL Advanced Feature.

  3. Once LTL is enabled, navigate to the Carriers link on the left navigation menu.

  4. Click + New to add a new carrier

  5. Choose the Live Rate Carrier option

  6. Use the Search Carriers option to search for FedEx Freight or scroll down to find FedEx Freight from the list of available carriers

  7. Click FedEx Freight

    ⚠️ Adding FedEx Freight requires the LTL Freight advanced feature. You are prompted with the following steps if you do not have this feature enabled during installation:

    • Click the toggle button to enable the LTL Freight feature
    • Click the Continue button
  8. Click to continue in connecting your carrier account to ShipperHQ.

Steps to Validate This Carrier

  1. Enter the following credentials provided by FedEx Freight:

    • FedEx Account Number
    • Meter Number
    • Web Services Key
    • Web Services Password
    • FedEx Freight Account Number
    • If you don't have a different account number for FedEx Freight, just enter your FedEx Account Number here as well
    • Packaging Container
    • Payment Type (Sender or Third-party)
    • Business Role for your account (Shipper, Consignee, or Third-party)
    • FedEx Freight Payor Details including your Company Name and the address on file with FedEx Freight for your account.

  2. Once these details have been entered, click the Validate button to complete the validation process.

    ✅ If validation is successful, click the toggle button to enable the FedEx Freight carrier.

    ⚠️ If validation fails, please Contact ShipperHQ Support for further assistance, or review what has been entered for accuracy and attempt to enter your credentials once more.

  3. Click the Configure This Carrier button if the validation process was successful.
  4. Edit any settings for this carrier and then click Save to complete the setup.
  5. Your FedEx Freight LTL Freight carrier is now enabled and ready for configuration.
