Overview

Loqate provides address validation and data cleansing services. ShipperHQ's integration with Loqate supports address validation in all countries Loqate serves, along with address type lookup (residential/commercial) for US addresses. You'll need a Loqate account and sufficient credit to use their services with ShipperHQ. Sign up for an account at Loqate.com. 😊

Credentials

To install Loqate on your ShipperHQ account, you'll need your production API Key from Loqate. If you don't have one, follow these steps to generate it:

  1. Log into your Loqate account.
  2. Click "Add Service +" at the top of the page.
  3. Select the "API Key" option (not the address or email verification key).
  4. Note the new API Key for use during installation.
  5. Optionally, set a Daily Lookup Limit under the Limits tab to cap spending.
  6. Save your API Key and proceed to install Loqate in ShipperHQ.

Address Validation or Address Type Lookup Feature

To use Loqate's features in ShipperHQ, enable either the Address Validation or Address Type Feature in ShipperHQ.

💡 On Magento 1.x & Zoey, ShipperHQ provides full address validation with address type lookup using Loqate. For other platforms, ShipperHQ offers Address Type Lookup, letting you dynamically identify the address type (commercial or residential).

Install & Configure

Install Loqate on ShipperHQ

  1. Go to ShipperHQ > Market Place > Search > Loqate > Install.
  2. Enter your Loqate API Key in the Key field.
  3. Click Continue to process the validation.
  4. Loqate will appear in the Carriers list on your ShipperHQ account for credential management, though it's not a carrier.

Configure Loqate

You need to configure your chosen feature to use Loqate. Under Features, click the settings icon for your desired feature and select Loqate as your "Validation Provider."

Conclusion

Loqate will now validate addresses and/or return address types for US addresses, depending on your chosen feature and platform. ✅ If using address validation, customer addresses will be accurate upon entry. If using Address Type Lookup, you'll leverage this information in ShipperHQ to differentiate Residential and Commercial addresses, ensuring accurate rates from live carriers.

Troubleshooting

If Loqate doesn't return address validation or type data, ensure your Loqate account is active and has sufficient credit. This is the first step in resolving any issues you may encounter. 💡
