Functionality

In the ShipperHQ dashboard, merchants can:

  • Connect with over 50 carriers worldwide for real-time shipping rates
  • Configure custom rates, including importing carrier rate tariffs for carriers without available APIs
  • Manage multiple ship-from locations
  • Set up packing rules and packages for real-time package calculations
  • Create promotional business rules for specific scenarios
  • Enforce product restrictions for regulated items like alcohol or firearms
  • Present accurate delivery dates based on merchant and carrier operations

At checkout, the ShipperHQ cartridge calls ShipperHQ’s web services to retrieve shipping options based on the merchant's settings. The chosen service and rate are recorded when the customer completes their order.

ShipperHQ's web services empower merchants to control rates and options by:

  1. Offering live rates from over 50 carriers, including parcel and freight services
  2. Displaying delivery dates based on real-world operations
  3. Utilizing an intelligent packing algorithm for real-time package determination
  4. Providing accurate ratings for multi-origin fulfillment
  5. Applying shipping business rules on various scenarios like order value or location
  6. Setting promotional shipping rules like free or discounted services
  7. Offering alternative fulfillment options such as click & collect or lockers

Considerations

A ShipperHQ account is necessary to use the cartridge, which can be created at ShipperHQ.com. While the cartridge supports ShipperHQ’s core functions, some advanced features like the delivery date picker and in-store pickup map are not available.

Note that shipping estimates won't show in the cart for users not logged into an account.

Compatibility

The cartridge is available from Commerce Cloud 19.10, used for the storefront reference application and screenshots.

Privacy, Payment

Only customer shipping addresses are accessed by the cartridge. Using ShipperHQ means agreeing to our User Agreement and Privacy Policy, available at ShipperHQ.com. Payments can be made through the ShipperHQ dashboard or via other pre-arranged methods.
