How to Set Items that Must Ship Freight

Ensure specific items always ship via freight in mixed carts using ShipperHQ

Overview

Some products must ship freight regardless of other items in the cart. This is possible with Shipping Groups in ShipperHQ. 😊 To get started, you'll need the LTL Freight advanced feature enabled and a configured LTL Carrier.

Steps

  1. Create your Shipping Group (e.g., FREIGHT_ONLY)
  2. Click on the Advanced panel.
  3. Check the box for Must Ship Freight

  4. If these products have a specific Freight Class that's different from the default, select the appropriate option in the "Freight Class" dropdown.
  5. Save your changes! ✅

⚠️ Magento users must mark products at the product level if they must ship freight.

Assign Products to Their Shipping Groups

Ensure you assign your relevant products to the new group before testing. When this shipping group is included in the cart, freight rates will be calculated for the entire order. 😊
