Setting a Maximum and Minimum Shipping Charge

Set customizable limits on carrier shipping charges for precise cost management

Table of Contents

Overview

In certain scenarios, you might want to set a maximum or minimum shipping charge for a specific carrier. For example, you may prefer to charge the rate UPS returns for small package services but ensure it's at least $25. Alternatively, you could use whatever YRC returns for LTL freight but cap it at no more than $1000. You can configure these settings using the Minimum and Maximum charge fields on your carrier. These settings will override any Shipping Rules you've established. 😊 Most merchants can leave these fields at their default values.

💡 Handling Fees/Discounts and per-Box surcharges are added and subtracted separately, and can adjust the final price above or below these Maximum & Minimum settings.

Setting Up

On your carrier under the Advanced panel, you'll find the Minimum Shipping Fee and Maximum Shipping Fee fields. The values you enter here will override the rate returned by the carrier if it is under or over the set values, respectively.

Notes

If these fields are set to 0.00, they will be ignored.
