Setting Weight Thresholds for Oversized Carts

Set weight limits and display options for carriers exceeding freight thresholds in ShipperHQ

Overview

Table of Contents

In this guide, you'll learn how to set weight thresholds for your carriers in ShipperHQ and configure small package carriers to display even when they exceed the freight weight threshold. 😊

Package Settings

Edit one of your carriers in ShipperHQ and navigate to the Package tab. This section allows you to adjust the carrier's weight thresholds for shipping and control when rates should or should not be displayed.

Example showing how to configure details under Package tab of the carrier.

Minimum Package Weight

This setting ensures that all packages for this carrier meet or exceed a specified weight, automatically increasing the package weight to reach this threshold.

Maximum Package Weight

This setting defines the maximum weight allowed per package.

Maximum Carrier Shipment

This represents the maximum weight the carrier can handle, even when multiple packages are used. Learn more about handling multiple packages here.

Show Small Package Carrier for Oversized Carts

On the carrier edit page, navigate to the Optional tab. Here, you can check the "Show this Carrier even when over Freight Weight Threshold" box. Enabling this option will display the carrier when the cart is too heavy. However, ensure that the maximum carrier shipment is sufficiently high for the cart. 💡
