Dimensional Packing: Set Items to Nest or Stack

Set up nested or stacked packing configurations for optimized shipping rates

Overview

Table of Contents

Packing products inside other products, like nesting buckets or stacking hats, may not be available out-of-the-box with ShipperHQ. 😊 However, you can configure your settings to achieve this specific packing scenario.

Setup

  • Make sure the products you wish to nest do not have dimensions set within your e-commerce platform. If dimensions are present, ShipperHQ won't be able to nest them.
  • Define a box or series of boxes in ShipperHQ with the desired dimensions. On each box's optional tab, set "Max Quantity Box can Hold" to the number you want.

    • For example, if you're shipping buckets and can stack 4 buckets into one box, set that box's max quantity to 4. If another box can hold up to 8 buckets, create another box and set its max quantity accordingly.
  • Create a packing rule using "Pack According to Box Rules." Assign the boxes you created to this rule.

  • Assign the packing rule to your desired product(s) on your e-commerce platform. Learn how to assign attributes to products on Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce.

Conclusion

Your system will now pack products into boxes based on quantity counts. It will start with smaller boxes if the quantity fits and scale up as needed, mimicking the process of packing products inside each other. This ensures you get the desired shipping rates effectively. ✅
